Submarine yachting is a concept that has been around in peoples mind for a while. Although there are privately owned smaller submarines in use all over the world. (see some examples at psubs.org ) those are generally very small submarines with almost cero autonomy.
To make submarine yachting work a privately owned submarine must not only be big enough to deliver living space, range, and autonomy in the same way as a sailing or motor yacht does, it also must be designed for mother ship and base independent operation for long periods of time. This is the new concept we have been exploring and testing with our prototype submarine yacht. The results are not only promising what concerns the possibility of submarine yachting, they also suggest that submarine yachting will deliver big advantages in operation and maintenance cost, range, on sea and harbor living quality, security, and yachting experience in general.
