Yacht Submarine Sea Sickness - One of the the most important arguments in pro of submarine yachts is the lack of sea sickening movements in open sea. A submarine yacht is going under the wave crests and even in big waves the only movement is a soft up and down on even keel. Up and down movements is a movement you perform when walking - so your ear i trained to filter it out. This means that while snorkeling a submarine yacht owner can leave the coffee cup on the table and the spit bag at home.
Yacht Submarine Sea Sickness - the movements that contribute most to sea sickness are roll movements in the 20 ton prototype we never experienced any roll movement although we tested the submarine yacht during severe storms with a considerable wave build up that forced 42 feet sailing yachts to call SOS and crushed trees on the shoreline.
We are confident that the wavelength/hullsize at the prototype testsite was very similar as we will have for the 200 ton submarine yacht in open ocean storm conditions.
At the prototype testsite we did not only do well in all storms, we also found that when at snorkel depth we did not even NOTICE the storms.
We expect a similar or even superior performance for the 200 ton yacht in open ocean. This boat has as a additional feature a twin keel that will avoid any roll movement completly.
This will bring the stability and comfort in open ocean for the owners of submarine yachts a feature that was until now reserved for the passengers of large cruise ships.
As soon as calm harbor waters are not necessary for the basic comfort - a "permanent floating lifestyle" comes in reach.
Living for years on a ever moving small yacht is only for hardcore sailors - but living on a stable ocean bound platform is a option for everybody. The cruiseship industry is already selling "cruiseship condos" - submarine yacht homes will follow soon.
